"Reading
is a journey through your mind's eye. Writing is the
creation of that journey."--The Coffee Mom
Welcome!
This site was created for the
working writer. In an attempt to help those still
young in writing to develop their skill and find a niche.
This site will contain several job resources available , and
assistance in writing an award winning resume to bring in
the jobs you want. There will also be several links to
other areas online to help develop your skills in HTML, and
hopefully creating a website of your own.
If making money is your goal,
then this site is not for you. If your need is to hone
your craft so you can achieve your writing goals in your
genre then welcome! I am hoping to create a
"Wing" of writer's around the net willing to help
those in need of assistance if you need a more personal one
on one contact with specific questions that are not
answered by this site.
There are two types of writers:
a) THE HOBBYIST - who
writes for the joy of others, but has failed to submit work
for publication.
b) THE PROFESSIONAL WRITER
- who writes for the joy of others, published, and paid for
it.
Which type are you?
Rule of thumb: One short
descriptive sentence is better than a comma spliced, or
fused sentence.
Do you know what the
difference between a simile and a metaphor?
Simile - A figure of speech that expresses a resemblance between things of different kinds (usually formed with 'like' or 'as')
Example: Marsha sings like a bird.
Metaphor - A figure of speech in which an expression is used to refer to something that it does not literally denote in order to suggest a similarity.
Example: Her voice rang crystal clear above the chattering
masses.
Happy Writing,
